Peter Grancer Looney was born in Philadelphia PA and the family then moved on to Augusta county, Virginia.

The family then moved on into Tennessee. They lived in a number of counties including Davidson, Sumner and Lincoln counties. It was in Lincoln county Tennessee that Malinda Luna married Samuel Sanders and at this point that they and other Luna family members began moving into areas of Ozark county, Missouri.
