Our Okey family reputedly goes back to John Okey, the Regicide, in the St. Giles area of Holborn, London, England.  His son, John had left England for America by the time he married Mary Vincent in Manokin, Somerset, Maryland.  From that point on the Okey family lived in Wicomico, Somerset, Md, Lewes, Sussex, De and finally in Woodsfield, Monroe, Oh where John Woodman and Catherine Lemley Okey brought up their family which included Hannah Okey who married my 4th great grandfather Mathew Brown.

This is where it all began.  Plus more hours combing the cities and backroads of Ohio finding family members to interview and cemeteries to investigate.
